Do you have everything it takes to be a lider?

DO YOU HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILLS FOR A LEADING POSITION?

DO YOU HAVE THE REQUIRED SKILLS FOR A LEADING POSITION?

"To be in a leading position" is one of the main goals which employees who are employed in operational work processes over a longer period like to achieve.

A professional direction that perhaps “means more fun", " offers the chance to challenge yourself" “a more influential role" within the company, "the joy to achieve considerably more with the own team" or just an awaited exit from the work routine; these are the assumptions of being in a leading position.

However, who are these individuals who represent a good leader and have the required skills to fulfil the requirements? Definitely these who are aware of their competencies.

Do you have the necessary abilities and capacities to be in a leading position?

CHECK yourself:

• If you think about your own skill – Do your professional competences or your abilities to manage people predominate? • What do you think are your strength as a leader?

• Do you like to take responsibility?

• Do you know the strength of your employees?

• Do you find it difficult to offer suggestions for improvement to your employees?

• What does excite you on a management task?

• Why do you think that you are suited to be a leader who knows the personal and professional qualities of his or her staff and can support them to facilitate individual development?

• How do you manage to form a team and to motivate employees with different kind of strengths to work together? Answer the question spontaneously and soon you will find out if you are destined to be a leader. Please find enclosed skills, which you should possess as prospective manager in any case:

• Self-management skills (Only those who can manage themselves, can manage others!)

• Time-management skills (In particular, time-management is a key to success. Organize and coordinate your processes in an optimal way.)

• High degree of self-motivation (Remember in a leadership role in an organization you will only get in touch with few people who praise or motivate you.)

• Communication skills (Communicate accurate. Learn to express your goals clearly. Ask for proactive feedback. The clearer your expression, the better the result.)

Tip:

For this purpose search for the literature required, reflect on your own skills and start developing your own management style inspired by your personal strength
